  • When:Friday evenings,  5:30 PM – 7:45 PM(excluding school holidays and public holidays)
  • Structure:
    • Skill Development Circuits: Focused exercises to improve coordination, ball control, and athletic ability.
    • Game-Based Activities:  Fun, small-sided games to encourage teamwork and develop game awareness.
    • In-House Matches:  Played in a familiar and supportive environment, fostering confidence and enjoyment.

Players in Little Rovers, MiniRoos, (U5, U6 and U7) participate in  4v4 or 5v5 formatswith smaller fields and goals. This format maximizes touches on the ball, engagement, and learning.

Program Goals

  1. Skill Development:  Equip players with the fundamental skills needed to progress in football.
  2. Confidence Building: Introduce players to team sports in a supportive environment.
  3. Parent Engagement:  Provide opportunities for parents to actively participate as coaches or managers.
  4. Fun and Community:  Create a positive, family-friendly atmosphere where players and parents feel connected.

Do we offer a trial period?

For our young players, we do not offer trial sessions. At this age, children are still adjusting to structured group activities and unfamiliar environments, and one class is not a reliable indicator of whether they enjoy a sport. Enjoyment and confidence develop over several session as routines become familiar and children experience small successes. A short block gives your child the best chance to settle, feel comfortab;e, and genuinely enjoy the experience.

    Parent Involvement

Taringa Rovers values the support of its parent community and offers various ways for parents to get involved:

    • U5-U8 Coordinator: We are looking for a U5-U8 coordinator to help our youngest players and their families feel welcome, supported, and excited for football. If you're organised, friendly, and love community support - this is your chance to give back and make a real impact for our 2026 season. If you can help out, please get in touch with Belinda Wallin, vpjuniors@taringarovers.com.au
    • Volunteer Coaches and Managers:
      • Each team requires at least one parent coach and ateam managerto coordinate communication and logistics.
      • Coaching Support: TheClub Technical Director of Coaching - Juniorsmentors parent coaches, providing guidance on drills, skills, and match supervision.
      • Parent coaches will referee small-sided games during the sessions.
    • Field Assistance: At the end of training, parents are asked to assist with packing up the field, including dismantling goals, to ensure the next session starts smoothly.

To volunteer as a coach or manager, the following are required:

    Grading Structure:
